Happiness is bloomin' all around her,
The daffodils are smiling at the dove.
~From the Mary Poppins song, "Jolly Holiday"

Emma represents both a longtime dream and some new ground for us. I have been a fan of UK Boxers since shortly after we brought Linus home, when I first saw a picture of the beautiful brindle bitch, UK Ch. Roamaro Scotch Mist of Winuwuk. When the chance arose for us to obtain a puppy of full UK breeding, I jumped at it. (The fact that I'd been drooling over the litter long before I knew Emma was available didn't hurt in the least!)
As a first for us, Emma was shown with uncropped ears. We are staunchly pro-choice on the matter of ear cropping, and feel that the decision should be made based on what will best suit the dog. Due to her heritage, and the experiences of friends with UK dogs, we felt that Emma's head type and ear set and leather would be better served by not cropping her.
Emma's pedigree brings together some of the top UK Boxers, and we were absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to add this lovely girl to our family. Our sincere gratitude goes to Emma's breeder, Alisha Mobley of Shaeward Boxers, for entrusting her to us, and to co-breeder Kti Jensen of Global Boxers, for making it possible.
Emma's call name comes from a variety of sources; one being that it is a very popular name in the UK. Also, tying in with her registered name, Julie Andrews was approved for the role of Mary Poppins during a telephone conversation shortly following the birth of her daughter, Emma. Now that Emma's first litter is on the ground, we feel free to reveal that a large portion of her name is tied up in the "Harry Potter" franchise: the female lead, of course, is played by Emma Watson in the movies; the great Emma Thompson also has a role in the films; and one of JK Rowling's editors was called Emma. As well, the day we drove to pick up Emma from Alisha was the same day that HP Book 6 was released. As a huge HP nut, I couldn't resist that kind of karma - and it is also a large reason why Emma's first litter has a Harry Potter theme.
